Multiple layers of acrylic and oil glazes applied over gesso are manipulated w/knife, brush, and hands. My preference is to work in my studio after morning meditation and let the image emerge from the abstract.

Nature has always been an important part of my life. Growing up, I could go to the woods, as close as across the street, and I could find peace and solitude, my center and my God. I had the fortune to grow up near the mountains of Virginia, one of the most beautiful places in the world. But as I grew up, I watched more and more buildings go up. [...]
Holly Rutchey is both a visual and musical artist. Her paintings are mostly acrylic and watercolor/gouache. They feature tropical themes, including birds, beaches and intricately detailed botanicals. Some of her paintings have musical complements. She wrote and produced two musical cds, available on Amazon.com, and wrote the musical score to the award-winning documentary “A Mass of Wine.”
Surrounded by a tropical environment in South Florida, I am in awe of the colors of creation. Studying nature and its complex design has led me to my passionate desire to praise and glorify God, our creator. With the book of Psalms in the scriptures as my inspiration, painting, for me, is a form or worship and adoration for the Lord. “Your works are wonderful, I know that full well.” [...]
I specialize in travel photography with an emphasis on European street and garden scenes. While I may sharpen a photo, I do not digitally manipulate my colors/images as my colors are all by Mother Nature, not photoshop! Call me ‘ol fashioned, but, if the sky is gray I don’t make it blue! All my printing is done with archival pigment inks on either archival premium photo paper or archival canvas. [...]
After a long career as an ad agency art director upon graduating from college, I took classes at Cleveland Institute of Art to re-aquaint myself with the paint & brush. I found my style in acrylics, painting large, colorful, layering color upon color eccentrically developing my style. Ironically having to be a “jack of all trades” in the ad business, my charcoals and pastels are detailed and realistically graphic. I [...]
We started in 1993 with a vision of using vintage windows as home accessories and giving them another life as art. By appreciating the historic value and the beautiful craftsmanship of nineteenth century leading and beveling, we have enjoyed blending the beauty of these materials to create our own one-of-a-kind art pieces. We believe each person who appreciates our work is honoring their personal history and their past. Our newest [...]
My work is Mixed Media. I use translucent acrylic washes, and airbrush layered on canvas. Handmade papers, nature, and glosses are incorporated. My reproductions are embellished with paint, pastels, colored pencils, and handmade papers. Themes come from people, nature, and the moods that surround them. I like to create art in a surreal, colorful, and moving way.
My name is Kathy Carnevale. My unique hand beaded designs are made with quality materials such as freshwater pearls, gemstones, sterling silver and vermeil. I like to combine unusual shapes, textures and colors and transform them into a one of a kind wearable piece of art. Many of my designs are ocean themed inspired by our beautiful Florida beaches.
“A painter’s brush consumes his dreams.” John Keats’ statement has been a driving force behind my passion. As a painter of realism, my college years were a series of experiments in abstract expressionism (the “ism” of that time). The frustrations of this popular style almost curtailed my desire to paint, setting aside my painting for a career as owner of a successful advertising- marketing firm for twenty years in Miami, [...]

There is nothing so powerful as the feeling I get touching a blank canvas and knowing I can bring this thing to life…people ask how I achieve certain techniques, I can only reply that my only technique is to play with the paint and let it take on a life of its own…there comes a time in the creation of a piece, that I have to stand back and [...]

Tim Parker’s paintings concentrate on Abstract and Abstract Figurative Art. They often take on their own lives and seem to paint themselves as he explores the interaction between texture, brush work, color, the human figure and other forms. The application of the paint itself can often be the main focus of the paintings. In his figurative work he tries to create paintings that exhibit a multi-depth abstract quality, intertwined [...]

Julie’s artistic career had a spiritual and enlightening beginning. Ever since she picked up her brushes after returning from a five year stay in Japan Julie has invented a unique style of Anti-conformist art, a marriage of a western perception of beauty and ancient eastern techniques. Julie’s fusion of these opposites has produced a completely original body of work which is both contemporary and timeless.

Everything Susan creates is food & dish- washer safe and most can go from the oven right [...]
A native New Yorker, Roberta London worked for many years in film, video and television production. Although she flirted with still photography during those formative years, it wasn’t until moving to Florida that she realized the flirting stage was over and it was time for a serious relationship. The Florida landscape, filled with stunning flowers, colors and shapes, had captivated her. London sees herself as a “through-the-lens explorer and composer.” [...]

Handcrafted semi-precious gemstone jewelry, wrapped in sterling silver or 14K gold-fill wire. I personally create these one-of-a-kind pieces of art through my unique blend of semi-precious gemstones and sterling silver or wire. My collection consists of necklaces, bracelets, earrings, and pendants. My creative process begins with selecting unusual materials – unexpected color stories and textures – then allowing those elements to “speak” to me as I construct the piece. I [...]

Inspired by the ocean and nature, I use lost wax casting and hand fabrication to create my collection of dancing starfish, playful dolphins, and exotic tropical sunsets painted in gemstone combinations. The story in each piece is brought to life with 14k and 18k gold, as well as sterling silver worked into wonderfully strange textures and shapes. The gentle movement of sea grass and the organic feel of branch coral [...]

I am a self-taught mosaic artist who first started when an illness sidelined me from my very physical job. Necessity drove me into the art world, but my poor health quickly showed its silver lining when I fell in love with the mosaic art form. The deal was sealed when I began creating my own mosaic tiles from polymer clay and making use of my collection of found objects and [...]

I began creating functional art in the form of jewelry 20 years ago. My major focus is on fresh-water pearls and semi precious stones, I use mainly 14k Gold or Sterling Silver findings and all my pieces are one of a kind. My pieces start out on a design board where I let my artistic imagination take over. Simple pearls become 2 or 3 strands of twisted Toursades, some are [...]
My mother designed our basic purse pattern in 1981 with one size and one pocket. In the ensuing years I have expanded them to four sizes with five pockets inside and up to six pockets outside. My purses are reversible and washable which literally means two purses in one featuring current fabric for a woman’s basic accessory need. Women call them “practical,” “functional,” “fashionable.”
The artistic enhancement of woven silk fiber is a synergy of three interfaced digital devices. My digital images are creatively manipulated then digitally transferred to natural silk fibers. I creatively manipulate naturally occurring phenomena revealing their inherent characteristics. Color, pattern, line, texture and balance are enhanced by enlargement, multiplication, stretching and other special techniques which move the subject from ordinary to extraordinary. Color becomes more dominant, pattern more obvious, line [...]
Ken started working with clay in 1990 and became a full-time artist in 2008. He works soley with porcelain where it starts on the potter’s wheel. Each piece is then transfromed into a unique work of art with texture, carving and a unique glaze process. The glaze is air-brushed on, then removed from the texured areas. This creates an incredible look that resembles something from the bottom of the ocean. [...]
As a wildlife artist and marine illustrator, I enjoy a rare experience – someone who truly loves to go to work. Many years as a fishing guide and sportsman led me to the most rewarding career anyone could ask for. As a true Florida native, I’ve spent years fishing, hunting, guiding and exploring the wild places many people never see. After a construction accident in 1993, I had to [...]

Much of my work exists where tradition meets the personal. Painting and stitching afford me an opportunity to converse with culture lost through time & distance. I’m reminded of a long familial tradition of women who came before me. Stitching out of necessity, warmth, & sustenance, these Slavic women were not thinking of art or galleries but of practical pride in a solid fund of craft. It is from their [...]
