Edward Martin is an award winning artist who has spent over 38 years developing his craft, and is part of the exciting “Outsider Art” movement, completely self taught, without outside influences on his work.
Working in his studio at his home in Springfield Illinois, he has perfected the art of beveling, fusing, three dimensional etching and glass staining as well as traditional glasswork.
Currently working on contemporary 3 dimensional works in recycled fusible glass and is extensively working with metal to create a truly unique extension to his work.
Ed Martin solely designs all work and no pieces are ever duplicated.
Much of his works are created for private commission contracts.
In his career he has made a vast body of work that covers all facets of glass which a small portion can be viewed on his website.
Ed Martin has shown his work form Los Angeles to New York and due to the unique approach, his work is collected by people from all over the country,
some with over 50 pieces in there collections.
It is crucial to me to constantly challenge my mind and materials in order to create one of a kind pieces. To me art has to be an ever-changing journey that continually evolves into a new series of work that have their own undeniable style. I want my work to always take me in the direction of discovering new ports of the mind and produce beautifully balanced artwork that challenges the eye and draws people into my work.
