TWpaints-SKOOKUM “Look at my paintings with a sense of humor and creativity, as my goal is to spark your imagination. Consider a world gone by and a world yet to be. Just Imagine! ” -Tim Wistrom

Many people don’t know his name, but they know his paintings. He’s well known as the artist that creates amazing surrealism, so detailed it looks like a photograph.

Tim works with acrylic paint on canvas, using paint brushes. There are no computers, no projectors, no airbrushes, not even a plumb line – only the paint and brushes. Every painting is done completely freehand, the old fashioned way. He is a natural artist, self-taught, showing his talent at a very young age. His career started in 1969, when he was still in high school, and continues today.

Many people have had the opportunity to watch him paint at Art Shows in the malls during the 70’s, 80’s – his original paintings were of boats, lighthouses, and Northwest scenes. Tim’s gallery was located in the small, artsy waterfront community of La Conner, WA. After 17 years, the lure of the road called again, so he closed the gallery and for the past eight years Tim has been showing his paintings at a variety of Art Festivals in Washington, California, Arizona, Nevada, Texas, Idaho, Colorado, Utah, and Florida.

We would love to meet you when you are down in Sarasota. Perhaps grab a coffee in St. Armands and chat about Seattle and Tacoma. We lived in the area up there from 92-2009 and bought some of your work when we were there. We love your style and your interest in capturing the architecture, landscape and culture. We bought a house this year in the Historic Kenwood District of St. Petersburg where art flourishes! Hope to see you this winter!
