Well, friends, the month of November is upon us and with it a slew of excellent shows to kick start your holidays! From Downtown Venice to St. Armands Circle, you are definitely in for a treat these next couple of weeks.

veniceDowntown Venice Art Festival is This Weekend!

If you have yet to experience the charm of Downtown Venice, this weekend is the perfect time to do it. After all, the weather’s cooling, weekend’s almost here, and Howard Alan Events will be there for the 26th Annual Downtown Venice Art Festival. This little town has got it all: coastal waters, lots of history and lots of shopping and dining options to choose from. You might say it’s one of Florida’s hidden jewels; you would be right.

This weekend, head to West Venice Avenue, where more than 150 artists from all over the country will showcase their best works of art, including painting, photography, functional and decorative ceramic, sculptures and much more. If you haven’t started your holiday shopping, this is the weekend to start it, and if original, handcrafted works made in the U.S.A. are your thing, then the Downtown Venice Art Festival is the place to go for gifts!

Featured Artist: Christine Reichow

What’s more, our featured artist this month is the wonderful Christine Reichow. Christine has always been inspired by nature and the beauty that surrounds it. Born and raised in Michigan, Christine studied art and design, focusing on clothing and textiles at Michigan State University, creating wearable art such as hand-dyed, hand-woven pieces and eventually transitioning to painting on silk. When she moved to Florida, however, her love of watercolor re-emerged and she found it to be her medium of choice. A member of Signature member of the American Watercolor Society, National Watercolor Society, Transparent Watercolor Society of America, Florida Watercolor Society and a member of Watercolor West and Southern Watercolor Society, Christine love of capturing Florida’s breathtaking natural landscapes has landed her in numerous magazines and has earned her many accolades in the community. This weekend, she’s giving away a great piece for the Featured Artist Giveaway. It’s a hand-embellished glicee valued at $450 titled “Pelican Perching,” and it can be yours by visiting her booth this weekend, entering the giveaway and winning the drawing for the piece, which will happen on Sunday after 4 p.m.
