Joyce is a self-taught jewelry artist, with a background in feature film production, photography, and acting. She has held numerous positions on feature films produced by Disney, Castle Rock Productions, and the Cohen Brothers.
Officially considering her first year as a full-time professional artist to be about fifteen years ago, she has been creating jewelry since childhood, and began selling it in the early 1990s, while working as a dolphin trainer in Honolulu, Hawaii, where she conducted research in inter-species communication at Kewalo Basin Marine Mammal Laboratory. She continues to be create, and be inspired by the sea that she now lives by, in her Sarasota studio.
