Hyde Park Village Art Fair

Tampa is one of our favorite places in the country: From Bayshore to Tampa Bay, from the minarets on top of the Henry B. Plant museum to the historical buildings in Ybor City, Tampa’s laid-back ambiance makes it the ideal place for those who love the arts. That’s why we’re thrilled to be celebrating 25 wonderful years of unforgettable art festivals this weekend at the Hyde Park Village Art Fair. The festival will be happening Oct. 25-26 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. in beautiful Hyde Park Village. Bring your whole family, and help us celebrate this momentous occasion!

• We are in the midst of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, during which many of our artists are showing support for those battling this disease by creating and selling pieces inspired by breast cancer awareness. Finny Lasarus BoothA portion of the proceeds going to Moffitt Cancer Center, one of the leading cancer research and treatment centers in Florida. Thanks to artists like Carol Joy Shannon, Finny Lazarus, Janet Cano, David Edmund, Jay Lensink and Arleen Parker, who have created wonderful pink-infused pieces to raise funds and raise awareness for this important cause.

Michelle Hinz• Our featured artist this month is the talented Michelle Hinz, whose exquisite work has been featured all over, from her beautiful gallery in South Tampa, to homes and businesses all over the United States. Inspired by the divinity in the creative process and the sense of purpose that creativity gives, Michelle started her painting career in 2006, following a 20-year career as a graphic designer. Her background is impressive but her work, which uses acrylic painting techniques to create everything from abstracts to landscapes, is simply magical. This weekend, at the 25th Anniversary Hyde Park Village Art Fair, you have the chance to win “Hope Springs Forth,” a gorgeous dimensional acrylic textured painting valued at $450. Michelle states, “Hope is the overriding theme, as it is the vehicle that enables the ability to gracefully prevail through the journey … and hope never fails.” Just visit her booth and enter to win! The winner of the Featured Artist Giveaway will be announced an hour before the festival is over, on Sunday Oct. 19. To learn more about the artist, visit her website.
