As 2014 draws to a close, American Craft Endeavors is thankful for the support of our patrons, participating crafters and friends. It’s been an exciting year and we have been fortunate to share it all with you. That’s why Dec. 27-28 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., we want you and your family to join us in saying goodbye to the old year and welcoming the new one at the 8th Annual Downtown Delray Beach New Year’s Weekend Craft Festival. Arts, crafts, music, food and fun await you and yours as you stroll by the booths of some of the most talented crafters in the U.S.
With crafts to suit every taste and every budget, we promise you will find things you and your family will love. But the best part is that you’ll end the year with a bang — meeting new and interesting talent from all over, introducing your family to useful and artistic craftsmanship, and spending quality time with those you really care about. It’s a win for everyone there!
Downtown Delray Beach is a place we know and love, too. For the past seven years, Delray Beach has welcomed us with open arms. Its lovely little shops, restaurants and close proximity to the water make this “Village by the Sea” an ideal place to say goodbye to 2014 and hello to a brand new year of fun and possibilities. Together, patrons and crafters can enjoy the year-end celebration while taking in the beauty of what makes Florida a beautiful place to be.
So, as we bid adieu to 2014, we want to share with you some of the crafters that will be there for the 8th Annual Downtown Delray Beach New Year’s Weekend Craft Festival. All of these crafters will be at their booths this weekend, so you’ll get a chance to talk to them about their work and their inspiration. And they all have one thing in common: they have all handcrafted their original works with love right here in the U.S., so you know you’re supporting entrepreneurs as well as creatives. Take a look at some of the people you’ll meet!
Nicole Oropesa, hair accessories, hauteblossom.com. Nicole creates gorgeous head pieces that will become the delight of anyone who wears them. With collections for both the grownups and the kiddies, and a variety of styles to suit your mood, you definitely won’t want to get just one.
Sawai & George McLaughlin, clothing, sandgtshirtdesigns.com. Sawai and George are two of our favorite participating crafters, with t-shirt designs unlike any others we’ve seen. A cut-and-layer technique allows them to repurpose the old with innovation, imagination and beauty.
Smadar Livne, acrylic painting, smadarlivne.com. This wonderful Israeli-born acrylic artist creates intricate and colorful works that any art lover will enjoy. Her work is not just limited to paintings either; with a diverse collection of pieces that speak to the observer, Smadar is one artist you don’t want to miss.
Hope Frasier, mixed media, vesselvixen.com. We love Hope’s collection of gorgeous and practical designs, which lighten up a room while promoting environmental responsibility. Hope repurposes materials into vases, serving trays, mirrors and much more. Don’t leave Downtown Delray Beach without stopping by her booth!
Debra Shepard, paper art, memoryscrapboxes.com. What better way to say goodbye to this year than with a memory box in which you can keep photos and mementos from your favorite moments of the past year? Debra’s beautiful boxes, in different styles and colors to suit your personality, are so unique and so special, you won’t want to leave without one.
Here’s to the closing of another successful year! American Craft Endeavors couldn’t have done it without you! Please continue to support our craft festivals next year, as we have some really wonderful things planned. Don’t forget to check out our show schedule on the website for newly posted shows at www.artfestival.com, as well as our social communities on Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest and Instagram. See you in Downtown Delray Beach and Happy New Year!
