image5I decided one day to make a Snowy Egret. I had no artistic training, but did have experience with tools and materials. So, how hard could making a bird be? It took three months and several poor examples before I came up with something that looked right to me. Someone asked for an egret for their pool area and I came up with a version using a cement core on steel legs. It was covered in stucco, which was stained and painted to match the natural contour and color of the egret. Twenty years later I am still making sculptures and enjoying it fully.
