Sarah Foster was born in Sedona, Arizona. She spends time in her studio at her home in a quaint rural neighborhood outside of Prescott, Arizona. She is accompanied by her ceramics artist husband Robert and a menagerie of critters. Her other passions include theatre along with gardening, yoga and hiking.
Sarah’s creations, Stone Creek Designs, include contemporary mixed metal jewelry, focusing on hand-cut stones from rare old stock collections, intricate handmade chains, designer sterling beads and lots of color and texture. Pieces are a combination of several techniques including the lost wax process and various forms of fabrication. This includes chasing, grinding, sawing, texturing with a rolling mill, fire torching copper, smashing and what ever comes to mind as a process that can achieve the look.
Felted wool is incorporated in the jewelry as well! Most pieces are finished first through a long process in a vibratory tumbler and then detailed according to what is needed, which can include polishing at the wheel or dremel, setting stones or adding a final textural element.
