“Heaven and Earth” by Jane and Michael Lewis

→ The Process: Their current work is fiber and mixed media. Using gutta resist, the images are drawn on white silk and hand painted with dyes. The silk is then steamed to permanently set the dyes. The silk is  mounted on acid free paper, cut and assembled in the bas-relief format, making our work unique. Many of the pieces are then embellished with wire, glass, stones and found objects. Matting and framing completes the image, all of which is done in our studio. The frames are oak and ash, some handpainted by us.
