Downtown Sarasota’s popular fall art and craft festival returns October 24th – 25th, 2015 and will once again strive to raise awareness for Breast Cancer Research. Many exhibitors will be featuring art and gift items inspired by the fight against Breast Cancer in hopes of raising awareness and will also wear pink in a show of solidarity.
Craft enthusiasts will be able to explore the vast array of original handmade art and crafts as well as unique gift items. A Green Market will offer plants, exotic orchids, gourmet spices, dips and freshly popped kettle corn. The artist and crafters will line 5 points Park and Central Avenue with their professional display booths. A portion of the proceeds benefits the Downtown Sarasota Alliance. Admission is free and open to the public.
This year, American Craft Endeavors will partner with the The Shula Fund and the world-renowned Moffitt Cancer Center, the only National Cancer Institute-designated Comprehensive Cancer Center based in Florida. This not-for-profit hospital and cancer research facility has made a lasting commitment to the prevention and cure of cancer, working tirelessly in the areas of patient care, research and education to advance the fight against this disease. Proceeds from the sale of breast cancer awareness artwork will be donated to Moffitt.

Having lived in Florida since the early 70’s, diving and sailing the waterways of the state has influenced his work greatly. “This all began while on vacation visiting friends in Ashville, NC. My very artistic friend, Margaret, got me started on Pinterest and Etsy. While perusing these sites I came across some beautiful glass flowers and thought to myself, “I would love to do that.” The next day Margaret and I searched through Goodwill and Habitat for Humanity for glass to make our first flowers. My life has not been the same since!! I can no longer look at a piece of glass without seeing it becoming a flower.” ~ Robin Focht
“I’ve been a soapmaker since 2000 and owned a successful soap company in Seattle Wa for many years. I moved to Tampa, Fl and in 2012 I launched Gulf Coast Soap Company. I am also a Licensed Massage Therapist as well as an Esthetician. Living in Florida to me is all about living the good life. Good weather, Good Friends, Good times. I try to reflect that in my soap. I hope you enjoy them as much as I do.” ~ Shannon Barr
