Las Olas Art Fair

Saturday, October 17th – Sunday, October 18th

Daily Hours: 10am – 5pm

600 Las Olas Boulevard, Fort Lauderdale, FL

Located in the heart of Fort Lauderdale, Las Olas Boulevard is known as the jewel of the city. Las Olas has everything for a wonderful evening out, or a relaxing day window-shopping and dining at one of the fabulous sidewalk cafes. On Las Olas Boulevard, you will find a multitude of art galleries, eclectic boutiques, and dining options that range from Cuban-American cuisine to fresh seafood caught in the Atlantic Ocean.

The Las Olas Art Fair is ranked as one of the top 100 art festivals in the nation and continues to be one of the most anticipated art events in the area. People come out yearly to see more than 150 artists display their work in what looks like a mini art gallery lined along the street. Meet the creators of the art on display; commission a specific piece; ask questions about techniques; learn the sources of their inspirations; and purchase fine works of art at affordable prices. No matter what you’re looking for, you’ll be sure to find it on Las Olas at this always anticipated, juried art fair. The wide array of handmade art and affordable gift items with broad appeal will be priced to suit all budgets. Admission is free and open to the public.

Fort Lauderdale’s signature fall art fair returns to Las Olas this weekend, in support of Breast Cancer Awareness. Many of the artists will feature artwork inspired by the fight against this devastating disease, raising awareness through their artistic efforts, and wearing pink in a show of solidarity. A portion of the proceeds from the art show benefit the Las Olas Association as well as breast cancer research.

Our featured giveaway artist for this weekend’s show is photographer Ted Davis. Ted is a nature and landscape photographer based in Sarasota, FL and Cape Porpoise, ME. Born and raised in the Adirondack Mountains of beautiful upstate New York, Ted spent the majority of his youth enjoying the outdoors — hiking, biking and playing sports. During the summer months, it was camping along the shores of Lake George and during the cold snowy winters – skiing throughout the New England Mountains with his older sister leading the way. In 2000 his family relocated to Cape Porpoise, a small fishing hamlet in southern Maine, and mountain hiking was replaced by kayaking, swimming, and the “backshore” – walking between the coastal islands when the tide was out and the mudflats accessible. Cape Porpoise has and will remain one of Ted’s most inspiring locations for photography.
